Who we execute for
Five sectors, one procurement problem each. Every alloy, finish and inspection level below is read from the same domain file the RFQ builder runs on; the finish specifications are the ones we hold vendors to.
Satellites and space
Small teams, many part numbers, few of each, and a launch date that does not move. The failure is rarely one bad part; it is fourteen part numbers across six vendors arriving out of step.
Typical hardware
- Bus structural brackets and fittings
- Shear and closeout panels
- Harness brackets and standoffs
- MGSE: handling frames, lift fixtures, transport containers
- Thermal strap interfaces and radiator mounts
Processes
- CNC milling, 5-axis
- CNC milling, 3-axis
- Sheet metal fabrication
- Welded fabrication
- Assembly / integration
What to watch in this sector
Vacuum compatibility. A finish that is fine on the ground can outgas in orbit; bake-out profiles and finish specs are agreed per programme, and a chem-film call-out without a type and class is sent back before it is quoted.

Launch vehicles
Heavier structures, tighter material traceability, and a test campaign that consumes hardware. Procurement needs lot traceability that survives a failure investigation.
Typical hardware
- Interstage and skirt fittings
- Fluid line brackets and clamps
- Test-stand structures and adapters
- Turned fittings and bosses in stainless and nickel alloys
- Welded tube assemblies

What to watch in this sector
Traceability under pressure. Every stainless and nickel-alloy part carries a mill certificate traced to heat and lot, and NDT reports carry the accredited lab's own name and ULR number, unaltered, because those are the documents an investigation reads.

Defence
Long approval cycles, end-use paperwork, and a supply chain that must not leak who is buying what. Confidentiality is a contractual requirement, not a courtesy.
Typical hardware
- Enclosures and chassis
- Optical and sensor mounts
- Gimbal and actuator components
- Ruggedised brackets and racks
- Ground-equipment fabrications

Identity. Vendor RFQs and POs carry our job reference only; your organisation is structurally absent from every vendor-facing document. Export and end-use documentation is prepared with you, not assumed.

UAV and drones
Fast iteration, mass sensitivity, and a move from prototype to small batch that catches most vendors flat. The procurement problem is repeatability across revisions.
Typical hardware
- Airframe brackets and motor mounts
- Payload interfaces and gimbal plates
- Landing gear and arm fittings
- Sheet-metal covers and trays
- Lightweight machined housings

What to watch in this sector
Revision drift. A prototype at rev A and a batch at rev C are different parts; we pin the revision on every vendor document and withdraw the superseded drawing, so a superseded revision cannot be produced by mistake.

Research institutions
One-off instruments, exotic materials, and a purchase process that needs a single accountable supplier rather than six vendor invoices.
Typical hardware
- Vacuum-chamber fixtures and feedthrough plates
- Instrument mounts and optical benches
- Cryogenic and thermal test fixtures
- Custom flanges and adapters
- Experiment structures for flight opportunities

One PO. Institutions buy from us as a single supplier; we hold every vendor PO behind it. Where an alloy is not in our standard list, it is routed for a sourcing check before we quote rather than declined.

Across every sector
What goes wrong, and what we do about it
These are the failures we have seen on real programmes. Each has a mechanism behind it, not a promise.
- 01A vendor cuts the superseded revision.
- Revision is pinned on the vendor RFQ and PO; the old drawing is withdrawn from the vendor's access when a new one issues.
- 02A finish is called out without a specification.
- The line is held at DFM until the type, class and specification are on the drawing. A finish without a spec is not quoted.
- 03A thin-walled part distorts after stress relief.
- Walls below 1.2 mm raise a CHECK, below 0.8 mm a HOLD, before anything is released. Fixturing and sequencing are agreed, not discovered.
- 04A schedule slip is discovered at delivery.
- Milestones are tracked per vendor PO with stage photos. A slip is told to you the day we know it.
- 05The client's identity reaches a vendor.
- Vendor-facing documents carry our job reference only. This is a default on the record, not a step someone remembers.
- 06A third-party certificate is re-typed onto a supplier letterhead.
- Never. NABL and TÜV certificates travel as issued, with the lab's name and ULR number. Our report says reviewed by or witnessed by.
